February 1 – Israeli police carry away a protester in the West Bank outpost of Amona. In contrast to settlements, which are authorized by the Israeli government, outposts are illegally built villages that have not been recognized or authorized by the Israeli government. About 3,000 members of Israeli security forces were deployed to evacuate Amona, said police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld. While some families left peacefully, there were clashes between police and about 1,000 protesters. A US official said the missile traveled 500 kilometers (310 miles) before landing in the Sea of Japan, also known as the East Sea. North Korea is prohibited from carrying out ballistic missile launches under UN Security Council resolutions that are aimed, in part, at curbing the country's development of nuclear weapons. March 22 – Member of Parliament Tobias Ellwood, in the glasses, tends to one of the injured people in London after an attacker rammed a car into crowds of people and stabbed a police officer on Parliament grounds. The man Ellwood was trying to save was Keith Palmer, a 48-year-old police officer who died, a witness on the scene told CNN. Police identified Khalid Masood, a 52-year-old England native with a long criminal record, as the attacker. April 4 – This photo, provided by the activist Idlib Media Center, shows dead children after a suspected chemical attack in the rebel-held city of Khan Sheikhoun, Syria. Dozens of people were killed, according to multiple activist groups. The United States responded a few days later by launching between 50-60 Tomahawk missiles at a Syrian government airbase.
